Alternative Route to Machu Picchu.

Peru

There are many roads to Machu Picchu. The easiest way is by train from Cuzco to Aguas Calientes and continue by bus. Another way is walk the Inca trail. It takes you 4 days walking hand in hand with a lot of tourists to Machu Picchu.

An alternative is to walk through the Lares Valley. The scenery is breathtaking. You can choose one of the various routes through the valley. If you want you can cross the 4450 meter Pachacutec pass. You sleep close to small villages and you will see more locals than tourists.
