The Voodoo Trail Tour through Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso.

by Dietmar Temps

We started in Lomé (Togo), visited the stilt village Ganvié in Benin, then Porto Novo and the World heritage Abomey. On the way to Abomey we received an audience with His Majesty Oba, the king of Ketou. We hiked to small, traditional mountain villages, saw fetish priests in goat skins and Voodoo ceremonies.

The home stay in a traditional Gurunsi village where we slept on the roofs of the Gurunsi houses was another adventure ... finally we reached Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso.

All in all a fantastic and mind-blowing cultural tour through West Africa with authentic interaction to the people and their culture and traditions.
