The Natural Beauty of Switzerland.

by Frederic Huber

Switzerland is my homeland - I was born and raised here and this is where I live.

It’s a small, landlocked country in the heart of Europe and among other things famous for its mountains.
Switzerland hosts about 20% of the Alps and approximately 100 peaks are close to or higher than 4.000 meters (13.125 feet) above sea level. Many mountain areas are developed, there are trains, cog railways, aerial cable cars and other means of transportation. The Swiss mountains are famous for climbing, skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking and other recreational activities.

Most of my pictures are taken in the surrounding areas of the Aletsch-Arena in the southern part of Switzerland in the Canton 'Valais'.
The entire area, including the Aletsch glacier (which is the largest glacier in the Alps) is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage back in 2001.

You can also see the Matterhorn, the most famous symbol of Switzerland.
The Matterhorn is claimed to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world and I can only agree with this.

Switzerland is definitely a country worth a visit.
