A hitch-hiking trip across Norway.

by Sergio Jensen

I have always felt the need for nature, to experience the freedom of outdoors and enjoy the spaciousness. So one day me and my friends I met in a voluntary camp in Italy a year before decided to go on a hitch-hiking trip across Norway. The goal was to travel as much as possible and see as many place as we could.

Starting in Oslo, ending up somewhere up north. It was a very low-cost trip; we only paid once for a ferry ticket to cross the fjord. For almost two weeks we lived outside, camping in the wilderness, apart from one night that we spent in a camping lodge, where our friend’s dad worked so we didn’t pay for that either.

This trip made me love the wilderness and nature even more. It doesn’t take a lot of money to go see one of the most beautiful countries in the world, though it is, in fact, one of the most expensive as well. But it is entirely up to you how you decide to travel.

Nice work Sergio. Glad people picked you up hitch-hiking in Norway – I was told I was very lucky [to get picked up] when I did, as no-one does it there.
